CCBA Exam Process?

Step 1: Obtain a formal CCBA training and earn 21 CDU’S & 24 PMI-PDU - Contact Hours
Step 2: Acquire the IIBA membership and apply for the CCBA exam online for a total cost of $250.
Step 3: Upon passing the exam, you will be awarded the CCBA certification from IIBA

Examination Format:

Questions: 130 questions
Duration: 3 hours (180 Min)
Pass Score: > 65 percentile
Exam Type: Close Book

Is the CCBA exam fee included in the course fee?

No, the exam cost is not included with the course fees but you will receive 21 CDU’S that make you eligible to take the CBAP exam offered by IIBA

How much does the CCBA Certification Cost?

CBAP Exam fee structure:
The application fee is $145 and is non-refundable (i.e. regardless of whether your application is approved or declined).
The CBAP exam fee is $250 for IIBA® members and $405 for non-members.

What is the format of the exams?

The CCBA questions are scenario-based (~65-70%) and case study based (~30-35%).
Case study based are longer cases (1-1.5 pages) of information with multiple questions about the case 3 to 5 questions each
The exam assesses the candidate’s practical application of the defined competencies for this level 3 certification in the IIBA Certification Framework. The current CCBA exam pattern is based on v3.0 of the BABOK Guide

Who many attempt I will have to pass the exam?

You will have 3 attempts in 1 year to pass the exam

What is CCBA® Certification?

What are the eligibility criteria to do this course?

To earn the CCBA® Certification, you must meet the following criteria:
Education: Undergraduate Degree or a High School Diploma.
BA Experience: Minimum of 3,750 hours of work experience in the last 7 years
Knowledge Area: 900+ hours in at least4 of the 6 core BABOK® Knowledge Areas
Professional Development: 21 Hours in past 4 Years
References: Two references from a career manager, client, or a CCBA®

How long do I have access to the course material?

All registered participants will receive a link to download the courseware from Dropbox/G- Drive. Once downloaded, you will have lifetime single-user access to the course material.

What is PDU’S? How many PDUs will I earn with the completion of this course?

A: PDU stands for Professional Development Unit as project management credential. You’ll earn 21 PDUs.

What can I do in case I miss a Day/session?

A: You’ll be provided a recording of each session. You can visit these recordings and join the next session.

When will I receive the course location and other details?

A course confirmation email will be sent immediately after the registration. Other information such as location, courseware access, instructor contact, timings, do’s, and don’ts will be shared five days before the class by our training team.

Where I can take the CCBA training to prepare for the exam? Does IIBA® offer classes?

We offer CCBA Exam Prep classes throughout the year. We offer online self-learning courses and online classroom training. IIBA® does not provide any classes or training.

How Can I get a copy of BABOK® book to study?

IIBA® members receive a complimentary copy of the BABOK® Guide Version 3 PDF. If you are an IIBA® member, you can download BABOK® Version 3 for your individual reference from IIBA® website. Non-members can purchase a copy of the BABOK® Guide Version 3 PDF for $29.95.

However we will also help you with a copy BABOK 1 week prior to the training.

What other resources are available for learning the concepts than the BABOK® Guide?

The BABOK® Guide is the ideal resource and provides most of the reference materials. We also recommend to go through our CCBA Certification course materials, which are highly focused on the exam.

I recently taught a PMP exam prep instructor-led class to a small audience of professionals who manage projects for a home improvement company in West Hartford. I thought it to be a fantastic opportunity to introduce the Agile mindset by conducting the course as a project and listing all the course activities in a Product Backlog of a Kanban Board. Listed were the six lessons, the specialty courses, videos, and a sampling of test questions. This provided for the interactivity a sprint team would have so we behaved like a team in completing the activities. There had to be a consensus on the refinement of the backlog each day and there was always applause when we moved activities to the done column. By the last day, this small group were discussing how to implement the Kanban into their own work environment. This was most rewarding as they experienced real world Kanban AND they received the tools they need to pass the exam. This company sent some of their smartest and most knowledgeable leaders to take advantage of Excelsior’s exceptional exam prep materials and hand-picked instructors.
